The Life of Martin Luther / On the Path to the Lord
Martin Luther accompanies his monastic superior of the Order of St. Augustine to Rome. Our hero is robbed among the ruins of the ancient world. The groups of singing pilgrims sweep him away, and the rundown holy places leave him disillusioned. Instead of the enormous basilica under construction, the intimate quiet of nature becomes the place of his divine inspiration and worship. Luther sets out, homeward bound, to spread the word of God among his ever growing band of followers.
