The Face of the Revolution

The November 10th issue of ’Paris Match’ in 1956, featured a report on the Hungarian revolution. The special coverage opened with a photograph taken on October 30, on Budapest’s Múzeum Boulevard. Forty-five years later, Hungarian historian Eszter Balázs and French journalist Phil Casoar decided to track down the young couple seen in the picture. Who are they? The film follows their search for answers, during years of investigation, they came across photos and facts primarily about the life of the young girl, and so, it is her story through which our documentary depicts the way the revolution influenced and formed everyday people’s lives.
