Overdose – Run for a Dream

A Hungarian steel merchant living in Slovakia pays 2000 guinea for an insignificant-looking foal that worths 200 times more a year later and mentioned as the third quickest horse of the world. The miracle appears in the form of a galloping horse in a country weakened in its economy and identity. The unbeatable Overdose awakes an unexpected attack of collective sentiments that mingle vague national and business interests. The film explores feelings and reactions of a community from the perspective of the prey animal - in Hungary, where horse racing is ruined and in the countries of Europe where this tradition is still part of the living culture.
