In the end he decides to stay ’single’ but hope arises again when he meets another interesting person.

Martin Luther accompanies his monastic superior of the Order of St. Augustine to Rome. Our hero is robbed among the ruins of the ancient world. Instead of the enormous basilica under construction, the intimate quiet of nature becomes the place of his divine inspiration and worship. Luther sets out, homeward bound, to spread the word of God among his ever growing band of followers.
